35th Annual Convention
Renew the Face of the Earth!
On October 11, 1962, Blessed Pope John XXIII called for renewal of the Church as he formally opened the Second Vatican Council. As the Church prepares to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of that landmark event, we gather to reflect on the Church's impetus toward renewal in the Church's self-understanding, its celebration of the liturgy, its encounter with God's Word, and its relationship to the world in which we live. We pray for the continued outpouring of God's Spirit to continue "throwing open the windows" to bring about an ongoing aggiornamento and to "renew the face of the earth"!

The Bible and Divine Revelation
This year’s seminar will focus on the rediscovery since Vatican II’s Dogmatic Constitution - Dei Verbum - of the important role that Scripture plays in the life of the Church. Presentations will explore how archeology can help us to understand the biblical world, violence in the Psalms and their use in daily living, the personal nature of divine revelation found in Paul’s letters, and how the Old Testament illuminates our understanding of Jesus and the Gospels.
